A short review of some remarkebla attractions that may be found in immediate vicinity of our Hostal Lineros 38::
 La Mezquita (Grand Mosque and Cathedral)
The Mezquita Mosque and Cathedral is the most remarkable monument in Cordoba and probably in Spain. It is the world’s largest temple as well as the largest mosque in the world. Erection of this magnificent construction began in the year of 785. Though a Renaissance cathedral became placed in the center of the mosque in the 16th century, the Moorish building with hundreds of columns bearing beautiful red and white colored arches has not lost its billiance. An absolute must-see!
 Judería
The Judería is the ancient quarter of residence of the former Jewish population in town. Narrow and winding streets and whitewashed walls and many architectural gems are inviting for strolling extensively. The center of this quarter hosts the Cordoba Synagogue, one out of three synagogues throughout Spain that are still existing today.
Plaza del Potro (square)
The so called Filly Square (Plaza del Potro) owes its name a filly capping a fountain on that square. The squre is of high denotation since it is the location of the famous Posada del Potro inn which was already mentioned in Miguel de Cervantes’ “Don Quijote”.
Museum Julio Romero de Torres
This museum exhibits countless works of the famous Spanish painter and native son of the city Julio Romero de Torres. The six halls of a historic church and hospital not only display some of his most notable paintings, but numerous personal items such as furniture, manuscrips, or his guitar. Visiting the museum provides a unique opportunity to experience how the artist used to live and work.
Museum of Fine Arts
The Museum of Fine Arts features, in the first line, paintings of Andalusian baroque. However, there are works from other eras to be marvel at, including medieval and contemporary paintings. Founded in 1862, this museum ranks among the oldest museums in town. As well as the Museum Julio Romero de Torres, the Museum of Fine Arts is located in a former church at Plaza del Potro or Filly Square.
Plaza de la Corredera (square)
Corredera Square is one of the most awe-inspiring squares, in Cordoba and even beyond. It is of unique architecture being absolutely uncommon in southern Spain. The square features architectural elements that may be found in Madrid or Salamanca. Originally, the square was used as bullfighting and horse-racing arena. Today locals and visitors enjoy to stay with one of the cafés or taverns or stroll through the small stores under the square’s beautiful arcades.
Museum of the Three Cultures (Torre de la Calahorra)
The Museum of the Three Cultures may be found within the solid walls of the Calahorra Tower (Torre de la Calahorra). The museum gives you a glimpse of how peaceful Jews, Christians and Muslims used to live together in the city of Cordoba in ancient times. The most advanced means of technology allow retracing the development of al-Andalus as a place where the orient and the occident were melting.
